Around the Europe for 30 days, Helsinki (10-Sep-10), part 2

Helsinki Cathedral (Finnish: Helsingin tuomiokirkko or Suurkirkko, Swedish: Helsingfors domkyrka or Storkyrkan)
Helsinki, Finland.

More or less classic view on the Cathedral. The guy in the center is the Emperor Alexander II of Russia.

The square in front of Cathedral is called Senate Square. It was filled with bear statues:

As far as I remember, these bears was part of United Buddy Bears installation. "Repect for all life" is the keyphrase of that organization.

From my point of view, these bears looked a little bit strange near the Cathedral:

Bear

Every bear was dedicated to single country. This one was dedicated to Cuba.

Cuba

Bear that looked like famous Disney's Winnie The Pooh was dedicated to People Republic of China (don't ask me why):
China

This angry she-bear was dedicated to Russian Federation:

I was looking for a very long time this Russian bear: all countries were listed in alphabetical order, but I was not able to find Russian bear near letter "R". It was pretty obvious: countries were listed in Finnish alphabetical order and Finnish translation of "Russia" is "Venäjä". That's why I was not able to find Russian bear somewhere around "R" letter.

This one strange bear is dedicated to Belarus:

To be continued.

P.S. You can always find all posts related to my trip if you will search posts by tag "around the europe".
