These guys are working at night when nobody is using trams. The car has brush (broom? what's better word for this stuff?) that throws snow out of wheels. Wooden car looks so old.

P.S. Do not even ask me what a hell I'm doing on tram railways at night :-)

Low Ammo.


You now, everybody is getting tired.

Everything is clear for devices and solutions are easy and simple - change the battery, charge the battery or turn off, wait for a while and turn on. And voilà - device is up and running again as almost new one.

Everything is muddy for people - why are you getting tired? A lot of work to do? Routine crap is blowing your mind? Horseplay? Absence of goals?

The easiest solution for me is to get short vacation to have a break and to think about what is going on.

Caesars Palace.

Business trips. I like them.
Especially, when your business trip takes you to fabulous Las Vegas from cold Saint-Petersburg.

So, it is time to plan some poker nights. Caesars Palace offers daily tournaments with acceptable buy-ins, so I have a chance to participate. Moreover, Caesars Palace has low stakes ring tables.

See you in Las Vegas in February.

Walking away.
This foto belongs to set of fotos, that were done during kind of creative experiment "Natural Persons". Actually, I don't like to make photos of people, because most of the time they are posing and becoming unnatural.

The idea is simple: you need camera and remote control. Setup your lenses into Manual Focus mode, set them to have focused picture in few meters ahead, hang camera around your neck, put remote control in your pocket and just walk around the city.

I'm using Canon EOS 450D and simple wired remote control "Remote Switch RS-60E3".

Little 15 - Depeche Mode song gives the name for this photo. The song is not about it, but who cares.

Russian subway's escalator. Enumeration of the escalator's steps - the main difference from every other subway's escalator in the world.

One more thing to add about 15: I have found that my camera's watch gains for 15 minutes.

Copying photos from Corporate New Year Party to share with colleagues.
Have you ever bring a camera to corporate party/event? Tomorrow morning you will find a queue of colleagues asking for photos (like "Hey, show me photos, I don't remember anything" from men, "Could you please show me photos" from smiling women).

And yes, I prefer old-school file managers like FAR.

P.S. You can see NIKON in the directory path. I've found that my Canon camera will write down photos to the Nikon folder if it exists. This Nikon folder was created by my friend's Nikon camera during testing this SD card. Yes, this is famous 32GB SD High Capacity Card, that I've managed to break during my five week Europe round trip and successfully restore all photos from it.

Motivation.
First day just right after the holidays. Laziness.
I remember one phrase that I've read on a church during car travel nearby Seattle, WA.

Sometimes you are the only Bible someone read.

So, I decided to share my motivation phraselist with you. I wrote it down from a kind of lifestyle/timemanagement book long-long time and I don't remember the name now.

• Focus on being productive instead of busy
• "Someday" is a desease that will take your dreams to the grave with you
• Tomorrow becomes never. No matter how small the task, take the first step now!
• The morst important actions are never comfortable
• Are you inventing things to do to avoid important?

You can see that part of the phrase ("Someday" is ) is marked with red. This mark was done before leaving the office for the five weeks long Europe round trip. 

"Someday" is a desease that will take your dreams to the grave with you. Remember this.

Long way home.
It took about 6-7 hours to get back home to Saint Petersburg from the Mantyranta I cottage.
We made several stops for quick relax. There was no snow storm like on our way to Mantyranta. The way was almost empty and there was no queue at the customs.

Chum's fireplace. For now, chum is just a small building that represents very old style of homes. You can find a chum near with ski resort, cross country ski track, etc. There will be a fireplace, firewood, utensils for the grill. Everybody can come in and do something tasty on the grill.
This one was built near with our cottage. You can see frosty patterns on the glass door.

Cosy cottage situated in nice place near the lake and a lot of ski slopes and cross country ski tracks.
Mäntyranta I. This is the name of the cottage and can be translated from Finnish as "Pine beach".
850 euro per week (up to 12 persons) in January with sauna and fireplace.

Building the map of Finland using osmand map creator. I will use it on my HTC. Osmand is great FREE map and routing software for Android-based mobile phones. If you build the map, then you can upload it to your phone and use the map without accessing the Internet. Great, nice and cheap solution. I have used this app during five week long vacation doing the trip around the Europe. No problems were detected.

Going to have a lot of fun next 7 days in Finland doing cross-country skiing :-P

P.S. I am not sure that I'll have Internet access, so be patient :-)

This watches was part of exhibition in Museum of Political History (Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation) dedicated to Vladimir Lenin. This golden watches was used to determine the time to start the Storm of Winter Palace in 1917.

Can't combine it in one thing: golden watches, poor industrial workers and revolution.
But it happened.
