Ravensburger 3D Puzzle :-)

Yes, I have Ravensburger three dimensional puzzle (a.k.a. Ravensburger Puzzleball) :-)
I'm in the process of completing this puzzle. I hope I'll complete it till the New Year. And will get the new one as a gift for Christmas, New Year or birhday :-)

It is cool and very good time killer. Just imagine: 540 pieces!!!

Photographer's Nightmare: Camera can't read memory card. How to restore photos from memory card?

Like all horror movies starts: this moviepost based on a true story :-)

Imagine, you are ready for long five week vacation, just bought 32 Gigabyte Memory card can store thousands of your photos.


You are travelling all these five weeks all over the world and making great photos like a maniac without any limits: Paris, London, Barcelona, Los Angeles, San Francisco, South Africa, Beijing, flowers, bathrooms, museums, hotel rooms and probably some really private and unique experiences in Amsterdam or wherever else :-)

The last day of your vacation. Your memory card in your digital camera is full of your memories. Allmost all of 32 Gb is used. And bum! You see some really amazing stuff. You start making photos of this yet another really amazing stuff and... And nothing happens. What? What? Why this stupid camera are not making photos of this cool stuff??

Probably your camera is tired because of you, probably something else happens, but the message  "Card not formatted. Format card with this camera" is appeared. Oh, ok. Let's try world wide known universal engineering solution for any problem with digital devices: turn off and turn on.

You are disappointed. At this moment, you've remembered all cool, great, superb, amazing photos you've done during your vacation. You start thinking what will you answer on questions like "Hey dude, when you will show me photos from your vacation? You've travelled all over the world and I want to see all of them!!!".

Hero City Leningrad

The coin is dedicated to Leningrad, Union of Soviet Socialistic Republics (now Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation). Leningrad was awarded with "Hero City" title for outstanding heroism and courage of city defenders, displayed during Siege of Leningrad and Great Patriotic War (1941-1945, part of World War II). The coin is part of "Hero City" collectible coins series that was issued by Central Bank of Russian Federation in 2000.

If you take a look at the coin, you will see two trucks traveling on the ice (it was the only way to deliver food to the city during the Siege), spray of water and ice shards from exploded shell (trucks were often bombed by German Naziests), waymark and in the background - outlines of Russian Admiralty.

The photo itself was made using Canon EOS 450D with kit lenses (EF 18-55 3.5 - 5.6) with Hoya polarizing filter (HOYA CIR Polarizing Super Quality Pro1, if you are hungry for details).

How did I get a reflection? I've just put the coin at the obvious mirror (see these two white dots? it's a dust at the mirror), setup the light carefully and use polarizing filter to minimize visibility of secondary reflections and maximize visibility of the primary one.
